i am starting to hear this sort of hissing sound coming from the front of my car. it has only occured to me a couple days ago when i rolled down my window. it's mainly when i'm in motion when it starts hissing. i'm thinking it could be the brakes. whenever there's a parked car i pass i can hear this sound. could anyone tell me what's going on? any info would be much appreciated. thanks

It could be almost anything from a small hole in your intake or exaust to noise from your alternator.

That will be a tough one to find by yourself. Distinguish the problem between sitting idle while running, reving the engine while sitting idle or car in motion on acceleration, cruise or coast. Then braking and turning. See if a friend can help you listen while you drive.

Once you know some symptoms you can begin to localize and troubleshoot. If you still can't find it then your going to have to take it in for a checkup.
