Question Audiophiles' views on Nakamichi

I'm looking for a '98 LS.
I have tried out the standard 'premium ' audio and found it decent but not great. For those of you with experience with the Nakamichi, what are your thoughts? How much of an improvment? Would you wait to buy until you found one with the Nakamichi?

thanks for the benefit of your experience---

I got a 95 model. My nakamichi has an amp, tweeters in the mirrors (inside the door where you would adjust the mirrors on manual mirrors) 2 speakers in the front doors, 2 in the rear doors and one sub, I'd say 8 inch or maybe just 6. The sound is clean and nice. But of course it's not the best out there as far as setting tweakability :P I got a new Alpine CDA7873 in my mazda w/ a 10 inch JL 10W0 sub and the sound is clean and loud. anyway, I'd wait to get a car w/ the nakamichi rather than the ghetto pioneer

Thanks for the input. I think I will wait until I can find one with the Nakamichi. Now, the problem is finding one...

The Nak system is quite nice sounding. The system is designed purely for listening. Although it sounds good it has nothing on nicely installed aftermarket sound system. If you going to keep your audio system stock you should definetely get the best you can.

My 97 has a Nakamichi and I like it. It depends on what your looking for and what your used to listening to.

I listened to a radio in my Accord for 10 years.....now it's CD's in the Lex. Oh Yea Baby, Yea!

Nakamichi is a brand that has been around for more than 30 years and has always had a fine reputation. I used to repair stereo equipment on the side and never worked on a Nakamichi....I guess they never broke! I never saw one in my shop.

It's a premimum sound and premmum sound system in the car. The above average audiophile would not be dissapointed.
