Default UCF10 CD Changer Question

Simple question.

Does the stock CD Changer in the 1ls have to stay in the car for the stereo to function? Keep in mind I have an aftermarket headunit, 2 amps, and all wiring independent of the factory CD Changer.

It seems like when I took out the CD Changer that my headunit ceased to function properly.

Input/explanation appreciated.

Did you have your CD changer attached to your head unit in any way? Or was it just leftover from when you removed your OEM head unit?

I know my ground cable is grounded to the same wire as the cd changer so I'm going to ground that to the car. If that doesn't work should I try to rewire the ACC and Battery power cables?
