Should I Buy?
Ive come across a 95 LS with about 100,000 or so miles but its a rebuilt title. I dont live near the car so I would have to fly out and take a chance. It seems to be in ok shape and the dude only wants 3000 cash for it. Im not sure fellas help me out.

If the car was down the street I'd say it might be woth taking a look at it, but since you have to fly there I don't even think it is worth looking at. There is a reason why the guy wants to sell it for $3K. It is because he can't get anything more for it and just wants to get rid of it.

Well also a car with a rebuilt title always is worth half of what it really is worth. It may be a gem. Just dont think about resale value. Check with your local insurance to make sure you wont have ins. problems.

There are a lot of flood cars out there as well and water and electrical systems don't get along that well. You'd be taking a chance with that car, but the downside is pretty shallow---only $ 3,000 at risk. Notwithstanding, you have to consider what that money might get you with minimal risk.

hmm, a thorough inspection before you buy... of course, but some people really don't know the true value of an LS either so I'd need some detailed pics and info, but if it checks out, hell, I'd try it. Drive it, look at the carpet. Look at where it was wrecked. That car is still worth it man. Depends on the details but I'd risk it.

I agree , check it out closely before you buy. Im not opposed to the rebuilt title cars, My SC and my LS are both rebuilt titles, but I bought them both as light hits, the LS needed hood grille headlight RH, and thats it. The SC needed rear bumper and trunklid and a pull. Again if you check it closely and you think it was put back together correctly, then save yourself the money. If you or your mechanic don't think it was put back together correctly, then pass on it there lots of out there. Good luck

Rebuilt titles can be scary. I would be extremely careful.
You might consider asking the seller to take the car to the nearest Lexus dealership for an inspection. These inspections typically cost $200 or so. I believe that these are the same inspections done for Lexus certification. The dealership produces an itemized report of problems, which could help you determine if this specific car is a buy.
Good luck.
