Well, the 95-97 models would probably put around 210 to the ground. As for the 98-00 versions, possibly 240. My goal is to have my 2nd gen put 250 on the ground...that is obtainabe..good intake and a better exhaust would help.
Don't quote me on these answers, as I have never dynoed my Lexus. Soon I will have an exhaust on the car, and an open intake...then I might just take it to a dyno.
I guess i'll just have to go find a dyno then! LOL
Not that I plan on doing that much modding in the first place. It would be nice to know where i'm starting out at. My engine is very strong so I would be disappointed if it was below 200.
Would be a major variation in your 95-97 and the 98-00 dyno results even with the same mods as it is VVT-i which changes everything as well a s the 5 speed tranny to top it off.
The 90-94 would be a better comparison of figures than a 98 and up .

I was thinking the same thing but I couldn't find anything for the first generation either.
Like I said; i'll probably just have to take it to a dyno since it looks like no one else has an answer for the 95-97.
for the 98+ you could look at the baseline maps the 2GS400 guys have and add like 5-10 crank hp (iirc lexus rated our motors a bit higher) and get a good idea.
The GS400 guys with some modifications are putting down as much as 260 to the ground. Of course the dyno sheets don't lie to us. The guy with the 248 has an intake and some sort of computer. I think that maybe stock it would pull 235-240. That's what I had previously thought about the LS400.

I think those numbers are a pretty good estimate. For a 300 HP car like the GS400 with the somewhat in-efficient automatic drivetrain of Lexus, 235-240 sounds about right. I'd expect the LS400 290 HP engine to put down about 230 HP, and the 260HP LS about 200-210, and the 250 HP LS about 190-200. As an SC owner than used to have the first gen 1UZ-FE engine like in the first gen LS, most of them put down about 190-195 HP.
what i found amusing is that using a regular old HP calculator (http://www.dragtimes.com/horsepower-...alculator.php?) with a vehicle weight of 4000 (GVW is like 3800ish+driver) u get an estimated flywheel HP of 290.68!

Lexus rated it at 290 back when it was new
Yea, you put in the stock times and you get 260 something. Those are not accurate lol.
