Clock and Seat Memory problems
I own a 1998 LS400. I have never owned a car that is so solid. I have only one problem. The clock will not allow me to update the time. It is stuck on PST and I am in the EST zone. It keeps perfect time... just three hours off. I also noticed that the seat memory does not work. I am a retired computer training instructor... so I thought that the CMOS battery could be dead. This would not anything except the memory function of the computer when the car is powered up. All settings are lost but the clock and seats work fine. If I am correct... could I change the battery? If not... how do I tell the Lexus service center that I may not have to replace my compter. A battery is much less expensive than replacing the entire computer. Where do I go from here?
