Default 98-00 Tail lights

You know how you can buy a set of euro tails from companies in japan, but they run about $500?? Well, has anyone ever tried to make them themselves? Well, I recently brought up an old GS forum where they had taken the yellow out after heating the lense up in the oven. Well, is this possible with the tail on our LS's? Would anyone be interested in seeing if this works?

it wont.

the lens' on the LS are colored red themselves, nothing to heat out. plus, if u did manage ot get the orange out it wouldnt look right without the center pieces.

LS tails arent cheap either, so if u muck it up ur dead

I'm not a big fan of the amber on the tail lights either....on my acura, I was able to get some very thin red vinyl strips that basically were applied like tint, and cover up the amber. It's not perfect, but looks a lot better.
Anyone try this?

Yes they have, or another method is painting the entire light

As much as they have RCR available, looking at the VIP rags, these combo's aren't very common. You'll see lots of headlight mods so I get the sense, the tails are not a highly desired mod. Over here...everywhere it seems.

I do like the JP tails but at $1,200, not that much.

I have a 95 and picked up a pair of red/clear/red tails for $145. I don't think they are JDM (maybe Alteeza) but look great and the quality is fantastic.....the 98+ have different mounting places, etc.........? I always thought the tails from 95 to 2000 were identical (just different texture and color variances). If so, lookie here for an inexpensive set of euro tails:

the outer pieces of the 95-97 tails fit fine but the inner ones dont line up right at all.

I badly want RCR taillights for my 2000 LS.

Tried Luxury Mods. Cancelled my order and asked for a refund after waiting over 15weeks!!! Website claimed 4 to 6 weeks.

Who else carries them??? I can't find them anywhere.

Thanks

Hi!

So if I understood correctly the outer pieces of
the 95-97 taillights will fit the '98 model ?

Has anyone tried replacing only the outer piece?
What would that look like?

it will fit but will look utterly ridiculous since it wont line up with the inner pieces much at all.

Yo! I found something on memoryfab!!

-Site is down-

BUT they have Admiration tails going for $360. Enough to make me consider them. Is the MemoryFab corporation located in the States?
