Default LS400 breaking loose in the rain

Well it's the first rain in the Bay Area, and my LS does have a bit of a tendency of breaking loose under moderate throttle. If I lightly throttle it, I have no problem with traction, but I was spinning my rear wheels after leaving a stop sign on an incline. I have new tires, Michelin Pilot Exaltos, and I keep my tires at 35 psi. Should I drop the pressure, and add some weight to the back? Should I also see if the TV cable is adjusted?

With the first rain and all the slick roads, this may be typical for now. How many miles on the tires? Might take a couple runs to wear off the mold release agents but I dunno if that really effects traction like this. <shrug>

tires have 6000 miles on them, I need to have Costco do a rebalance+rotate soon.

Decreasing the pressure will not do much good in rain conditions. Its really slippery the first few times it rains, due to all the grease build up from tires for however long it hasn’t rained.

pumping the tires up to 40psi probably wont be the best idea.

Drop the tire pressue and put some stuff in the rear. It happens to me on my GS400 in the rain sometimes.

Have a read of this article before you immediately assume it's better to drop tyre pressures on a wet road

Relax, drive slower.
I had the same problem on my LS. That thing was just out of control in the wet.

PSM...that means he has to buy a Porsche.
Or any other traction type system as found on the newer Lexus cars.

There ya go...approval to buy a new Lexus.
