H rated tires (instead of V) in 1998 LS400?
I have a 1998 LS400, and it originally came with V rated tires. Is there any danger of putting H rated tires on this car? Will there be a change in performance at normal driving speeds (< 90 mph)?
I understand Lexus dealerships may be pretty adamant about not dropping the speed rating on tires-
Thanks for any input!

I just went through this and put some H rated tires on. For some reason, my car actually had S rated tires previously installed and I never noticed until I had the change them. Either the previous owner or the dealer put those on the car

Some install places may be hesitant to mount up a lower speed rated tire. Mainly your Costcos & Sams, etc.
How about a worst case hypothetical: You car is stolen & then ends up in a high speed police chase, the H rated tire fails & the damn bastard that stole it somehow survives & with the help of our court system sues your ***!!!

I think the nonsense criminal suites have gone out of vogue lately. I definitely see your point though......
