So my LS has some faulty warning lights that have annoyed the hell out of me. Soo i decided to cover em up somehow. Well this all started when I wanted a rig fix for my unlit speedo needle. So i took all the black coating off the needle and painted it with clear glow in the dark paint. Now i can see my needle! Ok ok, so on my quest to fix the needle i saw that some of the 3-d warning lights are actually reflections (what a genius design!) So i had an air bag light. SO i cut a small piece of electrical tape and viola! Gone! Also i hade a faulty low coolant light. It would go away if i wacked the dash real good. Well i saw each warning light had its own bulb. SO i took it out and Viola! Again. So now I can see my needle and no stupid dummy lights. Oh god I'm poor. I was just excited. Hope this helps anyone who had dumb faulty lights. You can kill em!
If you removed your cluster to paint one of the needles, I'm guessing you had your car on before/after unplugging the wires from the cluster...therefore setting off the airbag warning light.
Here's a simple DIY on how to reset the airbag light:
All you need now is to hone your psychic powers so that you will be able to tell when the car is giving you a warning that you actually need before you end up stranded or injured...
No, the airbag light was on when i bought the car. I tried that diy but it didnt work. I'll try it again somtime. Also the Low coolant light was due to a faulty sensor or somthing like that. I check the coolant every week along with everything else. I also pay close attention to the temp gauge and it never goes above the halfway mark.
