Angry $665 for a new window?

Well last night someone broke into my vehicle and completely shattered my driver's side window.. (see thread here)

So I called the local dealership and wow.. just for glass, its $400 and 2 hrs of labor to get it in.

I'm sure someone else has been in this situation.. whats the best thing to do? Are there individual companies that can provide close to an OEM match? The Lexus parts specialist asked me what type of tint the vehicle had already... but my car barely looks like it has any tint on it. It does have a slight darker shade than just plain glass, but not by much at all. I had planned on getting the car tinted this weekend actually, but it looks like that wont be happening. I'm also worried that if I get plane glass, and I apply aftermarket tint to all the windows, my driver side window will look different than all the others..

I've looked up automotive glass companies but I don't know if that is a good way to go. Someone mentioned in the other thread that they went with one of those and the window wasn't a great match.

Can anyone offer any advice

[Edit] I just read your other thread! Holy ****, that sucks bro!

That's why I can't wait to move into the new house, so I can park my LS in the garage!

Damn man, hope everything turns out for the better

Get oem it is worth it.
Check tap to see if they have one.
My factory glass is green while some have bronze.

get thee to the boneyard! i know ls windshields are thicker than others. this is partly to help with the quieting. i believe the side windows are also. this is another reason why the aftermarket new windows may not measure up, even if everything else looks ok.

Thanks for the advice on sticking with OEM. I ordered a new window from Carson Toyota for about $250 shipped. Hope it gets here soon.

New tires arrived today
