From what i have read here, the lower control arm bushings are the first to go on first Gen LS400 (no brainer). The common solution to the problem is to replace the bushings with Daizen bushings ($100). Some folks have complained that Daizens gives a harsher ride and can be noisy if not properly installed.
The problem with installing Daizens is that you need to burn out old bushing and press in the new ones (requires a hydraulic press and delicate work).
This is what I have discovered.
Cost to install Daizens LCA (most UCA are in good shape) - Labor $350, Daizen $100 = $450
Cost to install Original LCA part $185 x 2 = $370 (from Park Place Lexus, delivered), since it is an easier job we can do it ourselves (mostly lots of wrenching but no burning and precision press).
So for folks that can remove the LCA themselves, it might be better to just go with new LCAs. Do I make any sense?
