Default still smoking

i pulled the coverters off and they were melted so i cleared them out and put them back on and i still get the same thing smoke coming out of the tail pipes with a strong gas smell and no power,please help.

Welcome to CL.

Could be that one or more cylinders is not igniting the fuel mixture. Check ignition wires, plugs and cap/rotors. If this has been existing for a spell, the O2 sensors are also probably dead but you should have a check engine/warning light with corresponding code. SHort of that, maybe a bent/broken valve...

How does the engine sound at idle and as RPM's go up?
