Default L-Sportline shocks: default height setting?

My new L-sportline springs and shocks are set to be installed next Thursday. I'm trying to figure out where to set the height. By default, do the shocks come at the second highest, or second lowest setting. From what it looks like, it's on the second lowest setting. But they didn't put any documents in the box that explain how to adjust the height.

I was thinking of doing the second highest setting on the back and second lowest setting on the front. Any idea what drop this would equate to?

Thanks!

Brian

I suggest you make them equal...

Observe...

NOTE: Unless you always have people sitting in the back/big sub box.

What setting do you have yours on?

I was thinking maybe lowering less in the back because, visually, it looks like there's much more gap in the front wheel well versus the rear. I think RA 40 did the same on his. It would be nice if we could adjust these after they are already installed.

Thanks,

Brian

I used to have more gap in the rear then the front. I left mine in the same setting they came with. Oh yeah, cant adjust them after installation. I'm also having problems with the rear shock mounts.... for some reason they are both not seated right, and making a lot of clunking noise, I'll get to it in a week when im done with all this stuff i have to do. I also have to get an alignment, since not only did i change my shocks and springs, but tie rods, lower ball joint, and stablizer links in the front. Cant wait till its all done, so then finally I can take these seats out of my room its getting crowded in here

Are the L-SportLine Shocks/Springs for the LS made by Bilstein and Eibach?

According to the following link they are for the IS300:
https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...springs+shocks

What are the favored Shocks/Springs setup for the LS?

Some of these will produce noise like clunking, clicking or thumping. Jacen at LMS relayed to me that this is due to the free collar on the Bilsteins. My right front has a clunk on extension. You can try and spray it with some water resistent lubricant and see if it helps.

Make sure the upper rear coils have an insulator wrapped on them for the first two or so windings...these bind on compression and may make noise. YMMV some get this, others not.

As for height, my Bilsteins have two settings, my front is low and the rear is normal/high. I travel and carry clients so having that extra suspension travel is helpful.

Just to note...if you drop it low, you may have less than 1" of suspension travel so compression to the bump stops will be common. It is harsh so go easy on the rough roads.

Kind of a shame to hear about the clunking. I guess we'll see how it goes. I was wondering about that clip. Seems like a lots of weight relies on that little piece of metal. RA, what height setting did you have your fronts on?

Thanks,

Brian

I bought the strut kit from strutmasters and my rear sits up a little too high for my taste. How long did it take for your rear to sit level with your front?

That pic was taken on the SAME day of the install

I JUST installed them like 10 days ago maybe? I had them sitting in my room for a while, even before the $199 deal came up

Just to be sure, is the default setting the second highest, or second lowest setting? Are there any official docs for these things that might correlate the adjustment into a real world measurement? Like, say, the highest is a 1" drop from stock and lowest setting is a 2" drop from stock.

Thanks,

Brian

Your guys set-up is different than mine due to the Bilstein strut snap ring positions. I would suggest measuring fender well heights before and after. On mine the diffrence measures out to 3/8" but the drop is more. The front on mine came down about 2.5" inches all toll.
