End of an Era
My LS is our biggest car right now. We have one kid (1 yr old) and plan on another in the near future. There just isn't enough storage space on trips for 2 babies. Also, financially, I gotta get out of a car payment. So my plan is to sell the Lexus , get out of that payment and buy a used smaller SUV in the $10,000 range. I can get a loan from my 401k at work which I pay myself back monthly. So a couple questions:
1) Other than AutotraderOnline, any suggestions where to list the LS?
2) How much do you think I can get for an almost immaculate 1997 LS Coach Edition with 99K miles ?
3) I am initially looking for a '98-'99 RAV4. Any comments on that? I'll have to see if cargo space is sufficient but I like what I've read so far.
4) Any good Toyota forums out there?
Thanks!

this is my first post here, but i think i can help you out.
strangely, i just bought a 97 ls400 coach edition yesterday :-). it is in *perfect* condition, no scratches or anything, and everything works perfect (that i know of). i paid 15,900 and it has 113k miles on it. it's in kbb.com for 18,300 fair market value. so that would be the area to shoot for. probably a little less if you're selling it on your own. good luck!

I'd price it at halfway between wholesale and retail and consider listing it on eBay and/or your local free City Paper (if you have one). I sold my last car that way in the Washington City Paper, at a very reasonable price for the ad.

I have had excellent luck selling my older cars and all of my families cars on AutoTrader. Just take Excellent pictures, thats very important.
Also I would consider posting it on Cars.com. For the extra $15 or $20 I would post it in several places if you really wish to sell it.
I would try eBay last. Nothing against ebay but the hassel of shipping the car will fall onto you. Yeah the buyer will pay the shipping but you more than likely will have to set everything up. When buy ing my 98 LS400 i did almost buy one on ebay but have never sold a car on ebay so I have no real first hand experiance.
