Default Well it has been a while

It has been a while but my Lex is coming close to being done if you can call it that.
Those that remember, I started a looooonnnnngggg jurney into redoing my whole stereo years ago LMAO.

I figure I'm way over due on showing you guys what I have done. Well no further delay.

I compete in SQ, basic 601-up.
Long list (let's start from the front and go to the back):

1) Rebuilt OEM alternator from 100 watts to 120 watts
2) Optima yellow top with a Tsunami battery topper
3) Eclipse 55090 DVD/CD player head unit
4) Custom 7" screen and face plate located in the front dash center console
5) JL Audio XR650 6 1/2" components speakers front and rear
6) One JL Audio XR650 6 1/2" component speaker for the center speaker in custom mount inclosure on the front top dash for 5.1 DTS surround sound
7) Eclipse 8 disc changer, custom mounted in front dash glove compartment
8) front sub, 2 JL Audio 8" W3 in custom inclosure located at front passenger foot space firing towards engine wall
9) Python 460HP alarm
10) Reupholstered leather seats
11) Custom kill switches and monitor controls in center console compartment
12) All doors, car interior, and trunk covered with Rammat
13) removed OEM 10" rear sub for rear sub port
14) Eclipse DSP processor 39011
15) rear sub, 4 JL Audio 12" W3s in custom sealed inclosure
16) Arc Audio ARC1500DR 4 ch amp for rear subs
17) 2 Arc Audio ARC4150CXLR 4 ch amp, 1 for interior speakers and the other for front subs and center speaker
18) custom cooling system for rear amp racks

There is more but that is the big picture of my setup. It isn't done, it isn't ever done. More plans to come. Have some pics from my Nokia phone. Not the greatest of quality but yall get the picture.

That's a nice clean setup of the audio features. I love how the head unit/screen sits flush with the rest of the center console, making it look like it belongs to the car Keep the pics coming!

Thumbs up

NICE! That's a great clean install. I bet that's ridiculously loud !

Hey, is that a 98-00 LS steering wheel attached to your first gen LS? I want to get the wood/leather wheel since it makes the car look a little more updated. Did you use your old airbag?

I had a similar idea with the monitor mount but then, I run out of space on the dash board. Did you hit any comps yet?

Yes sir that would be the OEM wheel redone by American Stitches. Looks and feels great!

Thanks guys for all the remarks. I tried to keep it OEM looking as much as possible besides the trunk. The theme is elegant and clean.

I have so far competed in two shows. I first built the stereo system to compete in the SQ DTS category but they got rid of that this year. I have to now compete in Basic 601-up (been out of competition for a while) but it has been so far great remarks on the sound. Got a couple of the best guys listening and tuning my car in Chris Pate (2nd SQ Pro National last year and help me build it) and Mickey (1st SQ Pro National last year). We will see how far I can go but so far all the judges love the staging and sound in my car. All I hear is praise in the front sub.

Got a couple things more I want to do. Relocate the rear speakers to the rear deck, run some screens for the rear seats, hookup a X-box or Playstation, and install some screens on the trunk lid.

Wow Lou that's amazing, great job!

Pardon my ignorance, but what do the kill switches 'kill' when you press them?

Well the buttons are for the monitor. One is for turning the monitor on/off. Another is for the menu (color, hue, angle, etc.). Another is for scrolling up and the last button is for scrolling down.

The kill switches for shutting off certain speakers. One is for turning on/off the rear subs. One is for turning on/off the front center speaker and front subs. One is for turning on/off all 4 interior component speakers, and the last one is for turning on/off the trunk AC cooling fans. I should do a fifth kill switch and seperate the kill switch to the front sub and the center speaker. Maybe I should add that to my list of future things to do.
