Default Door Lock

I have a 1998 LS 400. The Passenger side door lock won't fire by remote key or even the lock buttons in side car. It will lock only if you manually key or open/close from inside the car.
Since I'm new to LEXUS from BENZ, are they electrical or Vacuum? Did a connection fall off inside the door? Please help!...and Thank you.

are you sure you have the rocker switch (it's on the dash) set to the auto lock mode? It might be on manual.

All Lexus & Toyota use electrical door lock/unlock if equipped.

It could be the actuator. It is electric and goes out some times. I had two of them replaced already on my 97. It's easy enough to do yourself, but the new part is about $80.00

Default Door Lock Actuator

It prolly is the actuator. I checked for a rocker switch on the dash and could not find one. This morning it worked fine, then later didn't work again. Where is this actuator? In the dash, engine compartment? Thanks for your help.
