i have heard that the 2000 taillights will fit my 1996.

has anyboby done this? can anybody tell me that it fits for sure?

i dont want to be the test pig, cuz it may be an expensive test

i hope that it works cuz IMHO the 2000 lights look a lot better. the 2000s are wider and have a different color of red...i think

i dont like the red/white/red look....dont get me wrong though it look a hell of a lot better than the stock lights, but you know how small things about your car that no one but you notices are ok at first and then it really begins to bother you and then you cant sleep at night and you go to the garage and just stare at it until.....well you get the picture

i wanna try to switch to the all clear or all smoke tails that i saw for sale in a vip mag that i have, they make them for both years though (95-95 and 98-2000)

 

I looked at your gallery you car is black you should take the stock lights and smoke them............Did you put a later model front end on you car???????

 

yeah i have a 2000 front end with HIDs on my 96

Was it done do to accident or just for the hell of it.......Did you replace hood and fenders and is it a bolt on or is it a lot more tweeking than meets the eye..........I am very interested in this conversion....thanks MIKE

a small bracket had to be made for the headlights but that is it

 

98-2000 taillights are 40mm wider than 95-97.

yeah i read that off of the lexus website but i heard that the mounting holes are the same

if you look at the two lights the 2000 looks like it gets the 40mils by going farther in towards the license plate

Actually I think they will fit, the only problem is I don't know how flush the extra 40m will be though.

 

Would the key position from the 95-97 be different than the 98-00's?

Otherwise, how about a UCF30 tail light conversion? Hey, it's not my money. I'll let my alter ego live through some of your cars.

Hey Mike, how about going the other way a replace just the inner lights with a 1st genLS and then they will fit right up to the plate......

 

I have some rear light mods in mind but in all likelyhood, it won't happen. However time and motivation may change that in a moments notice.

BTW, where are you guys sourcing the tails and front bumper lenses from? I teeter on whether I want to replace mine...I don't have any idea what $$ we are talking about.
