Hi everyone, I have a 91 ls400 and my transmission recently started slipping. I took it to a mechanic shop and they said my best bet would be to look for a new transmission since the clutch is giving out. I have found some potential transmissions during my search but I had a question regarding this. So i am familiar that it comes with the A341E, but my main question is would a 30-41LE transmission fit my car.
Much appreciated,
Victor
how many miles on the car? how is the fluid level?
It has 250k miles, and I recently got the transmission flushed about a week ago. I was wondering if you can replace the A341E transmission with the A341LE
probably the toughest part is going to be finding a known good one, you can find transmissions but are they any good, shops are going to want to do a total swap they dont want to deal with opening them up too much liability, so the reason why they like to swap is they get transmission from suppliers that offer some sort of guarantee on it, if they work on it themselves and mess something up they are at a total loss, but its hard to know if you are getting a known good transmission .. unless its new of course, rebuilt just depends on who rebuilt it and how well it was rebuilt

flushed...yikes! though this sounds like a good idea, it's very detrimental to a high mileage trans esp one that did not see flushes throughout its life. there are many threads explaining that adding new fluid too abruptly (like a flush) shocks the transmission and value body and causes slippage/poor drivability.
what ATF is in there now? it needs to be toyota T-IV ATF or equivalent.
