Default Dampener bracket

I was told by an independent shop that when you replace the two front motor mounts you also need to replace each vibration dampener bracket which is part 12381-50080…Toyota dealership I’m working with didn’t seem to know answer. Seems like just a metal part rather than something rubber that would wear out but does anyone know if that’s true?

I have two OEM front mounts ready to go via Amayama (in addition to third “transmission mount”) but I never ordered these dampener brackets for the front mounts.

Thanks in advance my car is a 1995 LS400.

I've never heard of anyone replacing them before. I don't think you need to unless you damage them. They're just metal brackets that hold the mount onto the engine block

It's discontinued as you can find the part with a photo here. I have never seen the part needed to be replaced except the collision case.

Thanks both. I thought it was odd, but this is a shop that does not specialize in Toyota/Lexus. I think they are well intentioned but maybe just mistaken here. Maybe the aftermarket mounts kits came with these metal brackets included so they assumed they had to be replaced. I am going to have the Toyota dealership near me just replace the rubber mounts with the OEM ones that I have from Japan and re-use the metal brackets.
