Default Rod Millen Intake system?

I am thinking about buying the Rod Millen Motorsports air intake system for my 91 LS400. Does anybody here have any opinion about this mod? Is the HP increase noticable? Does it tank out your fuel mileage? How loud is the increase in engine, exhast noise?

Any opinions would be really helpful.

i believe it is only a cone filter adapter.. you are probably better off modifying your airbox and saving money, it basically does the came thing

OK, I was thinking the same thing,
I was wondering If I could just pick up a cone filter from someone else and save some money.
How do I modify my air box,
And do I need any special adaptor to hook up some third party cone filter.

Thanks a lot.

If you want to change your intake system go with injen instead of Rod Millen. Injen will sound a bit louder but adds a little more hp then Rod Millen's K&N Filter.

Injen does not make a cold air intake, infact I don't think a cold air intake is possible on an LS400

all he did was modify is air filter by cutting the front end and opening a hole between the headlights so air can go into the intake, it prolly helps a little but it's not a true cold air intake system

Actually you feel some good the power increase with injen. It has a shield around it and it is still a lot better then RMM. RMM is just "let's put a filter on top of the engine" kinda intake.

yea that RMM is really pointless for something that costs 10 dollarrs for material, they charge you 250,

what does the injen look like? and how much

RMM is just a K&N Cone with an adapter. Injen looks real nice, you can feel the difference and it sounds nice.

Talking

rod millen and injen are both junk, the only good one is jbradys intake box mod borrowed from (www.planetsoarer.com) and lextremes cold air both relatively cheap and works better than both injen and rod millen if you dont believe me goto planetsoarer.com and they show u why

break out the hacksaw and get ur horsepower

happy modding
