Best way to connect a smoke machine?
I want to check my intake for vacuum leaks. I suspect a leak in the EGR valve.
On other vehicles I disconnect the hose after the air flow sensor and seal the opening. On this car I can't compress the rubber accordion tube enough to remove it.
Once the intake is sealed I can feed the smoke into the brake master cylinder vacuum hose.
Is there a better way to be able to pressurize the intake?

you should be able to remove the intake tube by accessing the air filter first then work your way up. you have to first remove the big intake cowling over the radiator (2-10mm bolts if i remember correctly).
the most typical EGR leak from 90-97 LS400s is not at the valve or the intake, it's the EGR pipe itself.
