Default 1994 LS400 fuel pump control

Hi guys,
I have a question regarding fuel pump control. My understanding is there is a "Fuel pump control module" and a "Fuel Pump Module Resistor". Is that correct?
I thought the fuel pump relay was controlled by the ECU and that was that.
Can someone tell me where these components are located in the car and what they do?
I appreciate any help.

Instead of using a fuel pump resistor, a Fuel Pump Control Module was used between Aug 92 to Oct 94 for a Lexus LS400 / Toyota Celsior. This unit P/N 89570-50010 is located in the trunk as below. This unit is aimed to control the fuel pressure depending on the load without dissipating the extra power/heat.

@Yamae Thanks very much for that info. You are very resourceful indeed. I was very confused about that. I like to keep a spare of some of these types of components in case of failure. Now I know what I need. Do you know if this unit is by-passable device in case of failure? Thanks very much.

You are welcome. You can bypass the module adding a jumper between B+ and FP in the engine connector. But depending on the condition of the module, this type of problem may occur. So it would be safer to remove the connector to the module when you want to bypass the module. I also need to add that the bypassing will be shorten the lifespan of the fuel pump motor. Another thing to add is that the jumper needs to handle more than 10A of current and small resistance there may cause serious heat related problem. The worst scenario is the burning connector.
