Default High idle speed? (00 LS)

I’ve been noticing that my idle speed always tends to be around 1100 while warmed up with no a/c, but I’ve read that the “usual” speed should be around 650 +/-50 . I have also noticed a sort of “lag” from the throttle, like if I want to accelerate while rolling it takes a second to kick in.
Could anyone point me in the right direction on what to check out?

Check all your vacuum lines for cracks/brittleness, also replace your PCV hose as that will be brittle and letting air slip by or gunked up with carbon like mine was. You could also clean your throttle body and air mix path just above the throttle body by removing this cover plate and cleaning the carbon out of the 8 holes going to each of the injectors.

from my first hand encounters it sounds like the accelerator pedal position sensor acting up, disconnect the negative battery cable for 10 min or so and then try again

also make sure the throttle cable itself isn't too tight and is pulling on the sensor... if what's happening to you is what's happening to me it almost feels like the car isn't going into idle and it's as though something is very lightly pressing the gas pedal
