Man, I'm so ticked off right now!

Whoever did it had only a few hours to do it since I came home around 10pm and had to leave for work at 5:30 AM.

I got in my car and looked in the passenger seat, thinking "Why is there ice in my car?" I couldn't really see because it was dark outside so I flipped the lights on and saw the window smashed out and glass EVERYWHERE.

I had no choice but to drive to work so I'm here planning to leave early. Anyone know the approximate costs of replacing a rear passenger door window?

I never heard the alarm so I guess they didn't try to open the door. The only thing they got was my old Kodak 2MP camera with a bag and a 16MB CF card.

I have pictures, will put them up later.

 

Sorry to hear that they broke into your car. Someone broke one of my friends rear pass window, his car is a 1995 LS400 and got a quote from the dealer of $350 dollars plus installation, called around and the lowest he found from a glass shop was $180 plus installation and this window is from a wrecking yard. Don't know if the windows are the same for your LS but they sure are expensive to replace.

 

Go to LA and they have used windows for your car.

the dealer will be quite expensive, however aftermarket companies like glass doctor and other companies who specialize just in windows will be almost half the price. A friend of mine had his windscreen replaced because of a crack for around 400. side window should definitely be a lot less.

Glad to know you got it replaced and the cost wasn't sky high either.
On a seperate note, your other old post mentioned the situation where you had extensive brake pedal travel. Is it still the same or did you fix that ? if you did could you please tell me what you did to cure it since I've got the same situation with mine. ..

Man that brings back memories. 3 yrs ago some lunatic smashed my front passenger window on my old 96 es300. They tried to take the aftermarket radio but they were unsuccesfull since i had it bolted with like 8 screws. They left it hanging off the dashbord.

I got my window replaced and installed for $140. It was a used window but very great condition.

 

Sorry to hear that, glad you had it fix right away. Man I would love to catch one of those bastards and plant his face on the ground.
Question: Did you leave the camera where they can see it? Most thieves wont bother if they dont see anything worth stealing.
