Default 94 LS400 outer tie rods replacement

Hello Fellow Lexus LS owners!
i would like to replace OEM like quality outer tie rods on my car. Could someone suggest where I could get close to OEM quality yet reasonably priced replacements?

For this car, aftermarket means worse pretty much across the board. In some cases, substantially worse.

OEM (or near) for less money doesn't exist the way it does for a Mustang or a Corolla.

For your tie rod, unless you want another 30 years of life out of the part, that would be something I'd be willing to go aftermarket with to save a buck.

The MOOG outer tie rods on RockAuto have a zerk fitting to grease it up every so often which should make them last longer.

Moog has had an iffy rep recently. Doesn't mean they're all bad. I would compare any Moog part carefully with the part it's replacing.

I'm always amazed, when perusing parts at Rockauto, how cheap some of the "economy" items are.
Certain parts, suspension or otherwise, can fail and maybe leave you stranded on the side of the road but if a tie rod fails you no longer have control of the front wheels.
I can't understand how anyone could trust their life, their family's life, and possibly the lives of other drivers on the road to a $7 or $8 tie rod.

The MOOG part for a 94 is $43. A Toyota/Lexus tie rod can be purchased from Amayama for $44 with slightly higher S&H than RA.

Yes, the economy section is sketchy with all the "hearts" next to very cheap chinese parts.

I have had good luck with the MOOG "problem solver" line of parts which are made in the USA. Do not purchase any MOOG parts that have part numbers starting with R that are produced in china, total crap.

Your LS will always prefer an OEM part. If OEM is within the same price then i would go with it. The OEM tie rods are very durable and will last longer than aftermarket, even with a grease fitting.

Thank you very much for your input, looking at the price difference, OEM makes all the sense in the world on this particular part!
