Default outer tie rod ?

My outer tie rod boot is split. Can i just replace the boot, or should i replace the rod. Asking because the rod is only maybe 1 year old. Or can you recommend so good out tie rods.

If its an aftermarket replacement thats on there it probably wont last very long. I've made the mistake or using cheap aftermarket rods and balljoints and they don't seem to last much longer than a year or so depending on the amount of driving you do

I can see his point though, it's a bit more work and expense to replace the tie rod end again and have the car aligned. I'd just leave it alone at this point till it goes bad again. Torn boots are present on many vehicles I see daily. They go for years before becoming noisy or developing play. You can still inject grease into the joint and keep it lubed up which would greatly extend it's life.
