Question OK to remove this?

I have been told by numerous people that a way to stop my car from rubbing when I go into a hard corner or big bump is to remove the platic from the wheels wells (the highlighted part in the picture). Is this okay to do? I would assume that the plastic is there for a reason so that i why I am hesitant to remove it. Let me know, thanks!

I think you're talking about the plastic strip that lines the fender..correct? I know for a fact that people who have shaved their fenders have that plastic piece removed and have had no problems (that I know of) yet. If your car isn't lowered...you really shouldn't have problems rubbing against the plastic fender lining unless you're purposely trying to flip your car when taking on corners.

lol, no its just rubs whenever im turning and starting to go up and incline. It is kind of annoying and doesn't sound good.

I have already removed the plastic strip that lines the fender (the small one about 1/2 inch deep). I am asking about the big plastic one inside and around the inside of the wheel-well.

You know what I mean?

Thanks,

-jason

I would NOT do that here in Minnesota, but in California it probably doesn't matter too much.

Just to let you know. There is some wiring under those plastic parts. Sooner or later you will rub through the insulation and short one of the major electrical networks in your car.
