Something is weird with my HIDS. I am driving tonight and all of a sudden my hid light goes out. I turn the lights off and then back on and the hid works again but is very very purple and does not match the other headlamp These are factory hids. Any Idea whats wrong with it. The right hadlight that goes off will come back on for about 10 minutes and then go right back out. Help guys!!

 

Hmm - sounds kinda like something that happened to me - I have a 99GS400 w/ hids of course. And the driver light would turn on and off...... mostly off but everyonce in a while it would come on no problem - and work for some time .... just to turn back off. I ended up getting 2 replacement bulbs and havent had an issue since. Id say the bulb might be on the way out..... Concider this an incentive to get 6000k bulbs :P

how do you kow when a bulb is dead? I have an HID blub that when i turn it on it flickers once and thats it.

 

well flicker once that "might" be normal, it's hard to say. unstable battery power, bad wiring, etc... so it's more work to figure that out. but on the bulbs, usually when they die, they get bluer and bluer, and dimmer and dimmer, and one day, boom
