Exclamation Need help on brake light indicator!

About 3 days ago, my brake light indicator came on. I thought one of my brake light bulbs were out or something. I checked it out and every bulb was working. I turned on the headlights and all parking lights were working also. I even changed all the bulbs ($20 for 4 bulbs, damn thats alot of money for bulbs!) and the light is still there . . does anyone know how to fix this problem???

did you check the center brake like (on the rear deck if you don't have spoiler, or on the spoiler)?

Happened to me lest year. Have someone stand in the front and rear and check lights. Mine was the 3rd brake light in the back. Just pops straight off then the bulb is right them. I think the bulb is like $7 to $8.

Hmm, BLu_Gs3 mentioned the "brake light indicator". Does he mean the indicator that shows as "BRAKE" in red letters on the guage cluster, or the indicator light that resembles a yellow-lighted car with rear lights flashed? If he meant the former, maybe that's why he sees all of his bulbs are in good condition! Just a thought.

BLu_Gs3-- - I mean have someone stand in the front and back of your car and have them yell back to you if it works or no. This is easier then putting a heavy object on the brake pedal (and safer).

At what point does the indicator show up on the guage cluster? For instance, does it happen when you turn on your headlights, apply the brakes, or when you're just driving? If it's one of the first 2 cases, then it should be a blown bulb in the rear (i.e. tailight, brake, turn signal, license plate). If it's for the last case, then there might be a problem with an electrical connection or sensor for the rear lighting system, or the contacts of the bulbs are getting dirty.
