I have a warning light of a car with its rear light shining. I checked all the rear bulbs (brake light, rear lights, backup lights, license plate lights) and they are working. The light does not come on everytime but only when I push the brakes and open the passenger rear door.
This is very strange. I had an accident on that door and they took all my old parts out and put it on the new door. I was wondering if the sensor runs through this door. Do you guys have any idea what is wrong with my car?
Have you checked your 3rd brake light? Have someone else stand behind the car when you brake and check that and make sure all the tail bulbs are lighting up bright like they are supposed to. If that doesn't yield any results, I'd take it back to the shop who did you body work and tell them about the problems and either have them check it out or go to the dealer on their tab. The light coming on with that door opening sends some suspicion in that direction and should be enough for them to take some responsibility if they are reputable.
I agree....get someone to step on your brakes, and you check each bulb to see if its all good.....otherwise, just make a closed-fist and give your dash a couple wacks...that may do the trick.
