So, this means that for all of us who bought the kit from him with less than 1 year would have NO warranty at all. If the bulb is broken or is dying, then we cannot get a new bulb from him!!! Is there any other sellers out there who still sell the rebased bulbs. I would like to keep my HID for the rest of the life of my car. The life of the bulbs definitely won't last the same as the car. Sometimes down in the road, we need to get replacement bulbs.

Thanks,

Ching-Ho Cheng

Nothing is a substitiute for a good HID kit. However using the silverstar bulbs to obtain a "whiter" look over stock bulbs and a combination of mirrors and magnifying glass units, there may be a way to focus the beam pattern of the "white" silverstar bulbs and then disperse it evenly through mirrors. Looks like something i should try

This is the start of regulation of anything nice or rice. i expect the trend will fall to the black market soon for any goodies.

I just got an email from Discount Cycle (I bought a kit from him as well) and he is still going to provide warranty support. Maybe this is why he stopped doing group buys the last few months...he probably stopped importing the kits in mass quantities when he heard about the new regulations??. Anways, he said he will still be in business as he has other lighting equipment --just don't expect him to offer HID kits in the future.

Suvlights.com also has confirmed the new ban of HID kit sales by announcing they would discontinue sales of the kits on their site. Oh man, this sucks.

I think that companies outside of the U.S. will be banned from importing HID kits. Since it will be illegal to sell HID kits in the U.S., I doubt any reputable company will ship here.

Jason just responded back to my email saying that he will continue to provide warranty support to those of us who bought the kit from him for less than 1 year. However, after warranty expires, he cannot sell the replacement parts to us due to the ban.

I would better to buy the replacement bulbs now, rather than after 8/15/2003, just in case.

I tried to sign it but could not as it is only for residents of the US.

In your case, I think you may still be able to get HID kits from local retailers. The ban only affects U.S. residents.
