eww this is insane

no way

well, at least Lexus owners should be safe since it would be associated with that vehicle as OEM, righ?

I just contacted Jason at discountcycle and he told me that he is no longer offering HID kits :(
anyone know other places i can go to get these before they are totally gone???

nima 07-23-03 12:14 PM

Well it will just the begining of the NEW wave of sales on HID. Maybe more ppl will start using them too. (Just like dish emulators)!

The NHSTA is going after the sellers of the kits. There is a MINIMUM 5K penalty if they catch a merchant selling the HID kits. Of course, if they find out that you've been selling for quite some time the penalty will be stiffer.

A couple of months ago, APC was forced to pay a fine of almost a million dollars for their clear headlamps that did not meet DOT certification standards. I doubt you will see many sellers offering HID kits once the ban of sales takes place.

at least i have gotten all the kits i need.... that's kinda pleasing

see_fu 07-23-03 04:13 PM

i wonder if retrofits are included.

Thats shocking. If its going to be illegal to sell the kits, I wonder if its also illegal to sell the Bulbs..:eek1:

I hope NOT, I dont think so because cars that came w/OEM HID's will still need to buy replacement bulbs

Anyone have any info on this
Bryan can you get the 6K Bulbs also, If so how much?

This is coming from a seller that has an excellent reputation. If you read his posts you can see that he doesn't dish out bs to make a sale. He's also cutting his prices to sell off his inventory... I would think if this was a hoax to boost sales that a good businessman would raise prices due to the increased surge of demand.

Autolamps-Online also confirmed the above in this email:

HID-Online's (Autolamps-Online) affirmation:
