Default DRL's look so recoculous!!

Okay we all must agree, the low voltage on the DRL emits the WORST dirty yellow color imagineable. I have tried a few different hyper-white and semi-blue bulbs and it still looks yellow. Has anyone tried a bulb on the GS (high beam) that looks good during the day when you are driving (DRL)? There has to be some solution.....besides disconecting them

forget it man, i don't think there is a way two solutions for ya:
1) get a way to disable drl on the gs, which is pretty doable i think (on the is3 this is very easy. and i know jonathan has his disabled already)
2) get a 98 without drl

I don't know if it is the angle or what but this afternoon I notice the DRL on new RX330 that was following me appear very white on my rear view mirror. Not the typical yellowish color. Guess I am going to have to pay attention a bit more when I see a new RX330 head on. My GS is going in headlight assembly replacement under TSB next tuesday and will check to out the RX330 in the showroom.

just unplug the DRL resistor connector, you highbeam indicator on the dash will stay on, if that does not bother you, should take you lesser than a min to do

Default DRL's

I believe that the high beam buld although in the same housing is not the same bulb as the DRL. If you go to lextasy.com you can buy "HID blue" LED's for pretty cheap. They have pics on the site for comparison. They are listed under the GS cars.

Sorry but that is not the DRL rather it is wedge bulb. Wedge bulb is on only at night when the low beam headlights are on. In the day time the high beam is running at low power mode as Daylight Running Light.

yup, that's correct. the small bulb is only on at night when headlight is on. drl is high beam at 50% power

Hmmm I was getting excited when I saw the post about high beam LED swap opp....how cool would that be? Kill the 9005/6 and plug in an LED! That would solve the issue!

Hey guys I have a 98gs400 so I don't have the 50 percent running of the high beams during the day but at night the bottem light comes on when i turn on my headlights and I get that nasty yellow. I ordered some hyper whites from lexstasy.com but when I put it in, it has no intensity at all. The color is pretty good but it's not nearly as bright as the yellow was before. Can someone recommend me some good bulbs for it? Thanks.
