Default brake lights MELTING on 2004 RX

Hi, the red plastic surround to the brake lights bulbs (inside the light assembly) on our 2004 RX330 have melted (see attached pics). I am told replacing them with new parts is very expensive, and that all scrap yard old RX's will have the same problem so I probably won't find any replacements that are in good condition..

Is there a less expensive source for replacements?

Dave

Maybe because it is due to bulb being too hot? Isn't there possibility changing the bulbs with LED replacement?

Try Depo auto lamps. Just search in amazon, you can find a tail lamp for about $100

That's what I would do, and put in LEDs to keep the heat down.
