Tail lights out, brake lights work
I've been using this forum for a little while to fix problems here and there on my wife's '99 RX300 but now I'm stumped.
Both tail lights are out, but the brake lights are working fine. We checked the tail light/brake light bulbs and they both have current. We also checked the fuse and it isn't blown. All other lights are working correctly.
I haven't been able to find any other forum posts with the same problem.
Any ideas or thoughts would be much appreciated.

I remember being stumped by the same thing many years ago, Chris. At that time, I never realized that some bulbs were dual filament. The bulbs are inexpensive, so pick up an extra pair and keep them in the spare tire well! I agree with the guys above that new bulbs will probably solve your problem. Welcome to the forum!

Tail lights out
This is the problem I am having except mine turn on and off at will (even when the ignition is off) running down the battery and stranding me wherever.
I keep hearing a clicking sound from the headlight/turn signal switch on the steering column. Never heard it before this problem.
Any ideas other than changing bulbs (which I will do immediately). Next question: Do they need to be Lexus dealership bulbs?

i have RX300 2002 same problem with Chrisidaho
Backlight doesn't turn on only when you step on brake,i know it has 2 filament i change the bulb but it the same thing, and also licence plate bulb doest lit. need help.
