I advise you to point them down a bit so you dont blind other drivers.....trust me....others will notice your headlights because it so darn bright. Plus....if its too high.....you are asking to get pulled over by a cop.

Right now my lights point straight. I figure that i will set my aim right around someones license plate when I am behind them. What do you guys think? I know its hard for one to explain the ideal aim....thanks

straight is not good. i aim them down a little bit. basically if i am like 3 or 4 cars behind the guy in front of me, the highest point of my light is right at the edge of his trunk

ARRGHH. My aim is too high and the hex bolt won't change the vertical aim. I hope I don't get pulled over.

Yo guys -

Here's what I found out for the 2nd gen GS. I'm sure other cars have similar setups -

Bolt #1: Adjust low-beam headlight vertically. Turn philips (+) screwdriver counter-clockwise to move beam upward, clockwise to move beam downward.

Bolt #2: Adjust wedge / high beam / DRL lights vertically. Turn philips (+) screwdriver counter-clockwise to move beam upward, clockwise to move beam downward.

Bolt #3: Adjust ALL lights horizontally. Turn philips (+) screwdriver counter-clockwise to move beam outward, clockwise to move beam inward to the center of the car.

Directions applies to both passenger and driver sides. When looking directly down at bolts from the front of your car, place philips (+) screwdriver into grooves of the bolt (look like jagged teeths: VVVVVV) and turn as explained-above.

Lightbulb There are four bolts.

Hello! LEXUS pilots!

There are four bolts (four gears). This is a figure from the mechanic manual I have.
(Sorry, it is written in Japanese.)

They are hidden by the reverse side of the headlight unit.

From the outside (from the side fender panel),
bolt #1: Adjust low-beam headlight horizontally.
bolt #2: Adjust low-beam headlight vertically.
bolt #3: Adjust high-beam headlight vertically.
bolt #4: Adjust high-beam headlight horizontally.

Check it!

Lightbulb Headlight Tester

This is the "Headlight Tester" in Japan.

It can adjust aiming horizontally and vertically, in order to conform with automobile inspection.
And it can check its brightness (intensity).

Now, the mechanic adjusts aiming by long screwdriver.

SOARISTO -

This is awesome info..... I thought there was only 3 bolts... I stand corrected. I'm gonna check out the 4th bolt right now.

Great pics. Thank you for sharing your infinite knowledge with us here.

You're welcome. I should be happy to be any help to you.
It seems that the 4th bolt is difficult to find for anyone. (me too.)

Lightbulb

I have a another good photo. this is one of the shots that I have.
(This is one of the shots when I made the "Compound Eye of Spider".)

There are two grey bolts (helical gears) right and left on Low-Beam cover. High-Beam has two adjusting bolts as same.
