1990 to 1994 LS400 rear pillar lights

Are these lights the kind that turn on when you open the door or do you have to press the button to turn them on. Help would be appreciated!

Don't have the car but from what I remember when eyeing them at the salvage yard they were not hooked to the door switches.

To answer your question, yes they turn on when you open the door. There are 2 lights in that fixture. The large one turns on when you open the door. There's also a map light that you can't see very in the picture that turns on when you press the little square button.
