Default Bad Ballast

My Phillips 6000K D2R ballast just died on me.

Does anybody here ever have to deal with Phillips for replacement? Anybody has suggestion who I should contact to get the replacement? I bought this kit from a guy here in CL about 5 months ago and I didn't keep any receipt of the order....

Please help!!... Thanks y'all

That ballast looks like the one I have. Did you buy your HID kit from Jason? I think just about every seller has a warranty of some sort, try contacting the seller.

Oh yeah, Philips does not warranty their products when it's put together as an HID kit.....this is why it's important to get it from a reputable seller that backs the product he sells. At this point you can only go to the seller for ballast replacement under warranty...(most people don't repair, they replace since the ballast is complex)

yeah i don't think there is any warrnaty, specially ou don't even have the receipt... try talk to jason (discountcycle@ureach.com) see if he can do something about it

otherwise, you will need to get another ballast standalone from autolamps-online.com

Default Thanks Rominl

Thank you again Rominl
You've been very helpful. Do you know anybody has this problem with that Phillips Kit before?
Hopefully it's not just me that has the situation like this....

frankly though, you are the first one i have seen with a blown ballast. but it's normal i guess, i mean it's just a product, it's going to break one day.

just for your info, never power up your ballast w/o the HID bulb installed. that will toast the ballast for sure.

If you dont mind me askin.....how much did this one ballast cost you (from Jason)?

Btw....how did you determine that the ballast was the problem? Did you switch HID bulbs to test?

Default Yeah

Yeah... the ballast is on its way from Jason. I can't recall the exact number,...perhaps around $470. If you want, just contact him: discountcycle@ureach.com.

I didn't swap the bulb, but I did swap the ballast and this one is defective...
Banana, I did not turn on the ballast w/o the bulb... surely it'll fry the ballast.
Anh, you are in Austin right? What kind of rims do you have?

I'll keep you guys updated when I recieve the ballast.
