True HID?
Anybody found true HID lighting for their SC? I recently replaced the low and high beam assemblies at a small fortune, but they certainly look great. Tried the Hiper bulbs, did not have a good experience with them. Replaced them with PIAA Extreme Cool Blues. Nice white light. But I would really like a true HID set-up that provides the same appearance as the Bimmer. White in the front with blue or purple around the edges. I read the info at Illusion Lighting's site, and emailed them. They said they have to retro-fit the projector lenses to get a true HID appearance. My concern is that these are sealed units, and moisture will enter the assemblies once the original seals are broken. Anybody have any excperience on these?
Has anybody simply bought the Phillips 4000k HID Kit, and installed these? How is the affect at breaking up the light spectrum?
What company is reputable to buy the real deal from?
Thanks

Manaray has done this using the stock projectors and a 4100k kit from AutoLamps online. My brother has also done the same with his SC 400. Honestly, to me 4100k's look yellow compared to 6000k's (gives off the bimmer look). It especially makes the 4100k's look worse in the stock SC 400 projectors. My suggestion is to buy the 6000k HID kit from www.groupbuycenter.com (search 6000k -- the seller name is DiscountCycle). This will give you a good look. His prices are great and they are authentic Philips bulbs and ballasts (high quality). Price is also $465 shipped if you catch the group buy before it ends in April
I got mine from Jason at discountcyle, referred by Rominl and got better price than Autolamp.com and received it real quick!
Here is my SC3 6000K HID with stock foglights. The pic was taken around 5pm and it look a lot brighter in dark.
