does the IS350 without installed hid from the factory use projector or reflector?

all 2IS have projectors regardless of whether it's HID or halogen.

ok so if they have the projectors on there, to upgrade to hid from halogen do you just have to buy an hid kit and dont have to do anything with the projectors? lol srry if this sounds stupid but I dont know,,,,,,,,,lexus should really offer hid as a standalone option!

yes you just need hid kits.

but it's still going to be a bit different from the real hid

i would think mostly on the cutoff point and also the color spectrum

Projectors made specifically for halogen bulbs will usually have more light directed straight ahead because of the limited lumens (total light output) that the halogens can emit. So, you'll have two 'brighter' spots directly in front of the car.

With HID's, the designers of the projectors have more light to work with so they will usually disperse the light more evenly with a wider angle.

how much do new projectors cost, that are made to be used with hids? and are they fairly easy to put on?

don't waste your time/$$$ with new projectors.....just get the HID kit...they'll look perfect...I did it and am 110% satisfied.

agree, that's so expensive it's not going to be funny. new headlights are like over 1000 per side easy

There's a link for Xenon Depot in the marketplace forum

I have a Phillips HID kit in my Integra and couldn't be happier with it. It's one of the best upgrades you could do to your car.
