Default Stock Bulbs & Ballasts in Non-HID GS

Would it be possible for me to buy a pair of stock bulbs and ballasts off of an HID equipped GS and use them in my 9006 Non-HID GS? If so then I might buy a pair of these. Could someone let me know?

Good question.....I figure you may need to buy new HID housings to fit the bulb in there. My mother has a 2000 GS Platinum with OEM HID.....I have a 2001 GS non-HID. The housings are different......Another way is to re-base the OEM HID bulb to 9006 to fit your current non-HID housing.

yes, the housing is a bit different. you can fit the stock hid bulb, the d2r, in the non-hid housing, 9006, but it won't hold and it's not water proof. you can use silicone or so to seal it but then it will be hard to change bulb later.

a good way might be to get a 9006 base (i heard you can ask autolamps-online.com about it) and change the d2r base to 9006 to make it fit in the headlight housing. however i have never seen these before, i am not sure how it works, how well it fit, and whether it adds length to the bulb or whatever
