I have a 07 IS250 with HID headlights. My passenger side headlight will go very very dim ( yellow color) after a few minutes. When I switch the lights off and then back on, the right side is bright (blueish white) again. Sometimes I have to do this several times, even when on a short trip (like 20 minutes of driving). I've gotten a ticket for this already and need to get this fixed. I tried replacing the bulb but I'm still having the same problem. :uh
I was told that I should replace the entire headlight. Of course, the price at the dealer is ridiculous!
Where can I get a headlight at a reasonable price? Or is there any way to fix this type of issue without replacing the whole headlight?
your ballast is located in your headlight. Most likely there is a DIY on how to replace the ballast in your headlight in the 2IS forums.... Do a search
Yes, it's your ballast that's bad. I think that there are only two main HID (OEM) manufacturers, Phillips and I don't recall the other.
I got my HID's from the UK, maybe you can find your part from the HID posts on this forum; that's where I picked up the contact for HID's. Perhaps, Phillips has a ballast that will work for your car. Check the base specifications out do a comparison of what they have available.
check first and make sure both bulbs are the same, if they are then it's your ballast which is very easy to replace take of the front bumper then take off the headlight the ballast will be mounted to the bottom of the headlight
