Post Lighting Question?

hello...just had a few question that i hope you guys can help out with....i have a 93 sc 300 that i am wanting to do a a fog light conversion on....i would like to have the yellow fogs....i know that the name of the bulbs are Narva 85w h3 fog bulbs.. the problem is that, i believe SC400 put these on his 96 sc 400 wich already come equip with fog lights instead of the blinkers that we have....is this correct or will these bulbs work with the conversion that im trying to do..?? also where can i puchase a set of clear side markers...after trying to make my own i ruined the stock ones and have been rolling around for like 6 months with holes where they are supposed to be

thank you

You're right the 93 SC's have blinkers and 95+ have fogs. To do this conversion you will need more than those bulbs. The lamp housing itself is different and I'm not sure but I remember reading the angle on the housing is also different. Anyways to answer your question its not a simple bulb swap since you dont have fog lights already. The clear side markers can be found at the site thats not allowed to be posted on here. I believe its

http://www.c l e a r c o r n e r s.com

without the spaces of course. They're kinda pricey tho. Hope that answers all your questions

Ever considered purchasing aftermarket foglights such as the Hella Micro DE? They are much better than stock fog lights. They are small enough that you can probably retrofit them to sit inside the stock cornering light housings.

Those already exist. They are JDM products though and cost $110 a pair from GTA.

Hella Micro DE go for $130 retail, and you won't find them under $120. I dug up this site a while back that sells them for $80 a pair: http://www.tmtuning.com/golf3/l_G3.html# You won't find a cheaper price ANYWHERE, I've checked. The Micro DE are the seventh row down and come with the universal mounting brackets. I already asked the webmaster about that.

The JDM sidemarkers are sold at some place in Florida and I think at GT Autosports. Do a search in the SC forums to get the exact place. There are many people in the forums that already have them so someone, somewhere will know.

I saw a 97-99 Camry with those Hella Micro DE HID fogs about a month ago. It came up in my rear view mirror, and I'm thinking, what the heck is this vehicle? Just parking lights and two very small HIDs mounted very low, and then it passed me. I thought it might have been the Sylvania Xenarc HID fog kit, but from the site, the Hellas look like a closer match.

I'm bringing this post back from the dead because I have 92 SC300 and soon I will be getting a JIC kit and the 97 foglight conversion. How would I go about changing the housing from the 15w (92-94 Sc's) to the H3 55w?

The '97 conversion uses newer rounded foglight housings (another thing you will have to buy). The circuit will still be a 15w, but your 92-94 cornering lights will be useless on your new bumper. You're have to splice an H3 connector onto the 1157 wire.

Thanks for the info. I figure since I don't know squat about electrical, I guess I will just have to go to a shop to have it installed.
