Default DDM HID question

Hey lighting gurus, I was looking to upgrade my oem hids to 6k ddm bulbs. I was wondering if I can get away with using the stock ballasts and just get the bulbs rather than the whole aftermarket hid kit. I think there is a choice of 35 and 55 watt. Any thoughts/suggestions? thanks!

Your Ballast will do fine! get the bulbs and just replace them--stay with 35W, cause 55W will wear your bulbs out faster with very little brightness upgrade
