headlight problem
Hey Guys. Another day, another question. I just had new HID 4300k OEM bulbs replaced on my 06 GS. I didn't notice it at first but after a day or two, i constantly have the light go out while i'm driving. I turn them off and then back on and they come back on. I parked the car tonight and left my lights on and my right (passenger) side headlight goes out on it's own after about 2 minutes. Does this sound like a loose connection somewhere? perhaps i should take them out and then put them back in. Any suggestions or any insight to what could potentially be wrong?

This seems like a common problem on the Lexus running Philips D4S with Denso ballast; and the common solution (or diagnostic test) is to swap the bulbs and see if the problem follows the bulb.
I think it could also be battery problem. Maybe not enough constant juice going to the ballast. The reason why I say this is because you indicate that you have your fogbeams on when this happens. Each foglight draws 51w in addition to your 35w ballast.
This happened to me once before with the passenger side also, but it never happen again. So I didn't have to troubleshoot. All I remember was that it happened to me during one cold winter and I had my fogbeams on along with both heated seats set to the maximum and the defogger on.

Hey guys, THanks for the previous help but it's been about a month and i really haven't gotten around to fixing my lights. I'm away at school so i actually don't do too much driving. Between work and school I've somewhat neglected the issue but i need to take care of it. I've been told that i should switch the bulbs to see if the problem follows the bulbs but the issue with that is that both sides continuously go out. Sometimes its one followed by the other and then sometimes both of them. Sometimes it takes a few minutes for them to go out, sometimes it does quickly. I bought the bulbs online and have asked for a warranty pair. I feel like it could be the bulbs because originally, it was the passenger side bulb that went out so i replaced both lights. With the new bulbs, not of them started going out. On the driver side, that light never went out in the past so after switching to new bulbs it becomes problematic? I don't know.
Does anyone know of some good things to watch out for that helps pinpoint the problem?(either with ballest or bulb?)
Thanks a lot for any help or advice anyone has. I look forward to your responses.

Problem: LS 400 High beams won't work
Background: 1999 LS 400 with 270,000+ miles. Engine check light has been on constantly for 20K+ miles. Reading is for transmission error. Lexus has dropped, disassembled, and checked transmission and light error returns. Car shifts smoothly. Not going down that route again for $$$$$.
Current: Low beans work fine, will auto switch on as expected. Went to lexus parts, got replacement bulbs for high beams, removed old bulbs, the old bulbs looked fine. Added in new bulbs, they didn't work. Conclusion: the bulbs (old and new are ok) are not the problem.
Went to local mechanic. Said he is getting a "Hot" reading on both the hot and cold wiring leading in, but electrical is not his "thing". He charged me nothing (at least he was honest about his skill).
When switching the high beams on manually, the blue dash indicator light goes on, but no high beam. When pulling the tree stem backwards to "flash" the high beam, the dash light will go on, but no high beams.

Thanks
