I am very interested in seeing everyones headlight cut-off line. I see alot of pics of their new HID lights installed on their cars, but not the cut-off line. Pics of the cut-off line on a flat white wall from about 25 feet away would be preferred. Thanks for your participation.
Please include the following:
1. Vehicle
2. Factory or aftermarket HID kit with HID brand (Xenondepot, Hidextra, etc)
3. HID Temperature.
4. Any modifications (lens swap, bowl swap, bulb swap, etc)
Here's my setup. I'm using oem RX330 projector on my '08 IS250. For the RX projector, I swapped out the fresnel lens with an e30 clear lens to get a sharper cutoff beam. The e30 clear lens also helps bring out that rich blue color band.
The internal oem semi-flat cutoff shield is replaced with a custom-made fully curve shield to get an evenly straight yet sharpt cutoff from side to side. I also created a thin slit of 0.1mm on the shield to bring out the prism color band. This creates a multi-color flickering effect as the cutoff beam bounces up and down during normal ride.
Some people like to have a super sharp cutoff within 20ft, but for me, I adjusted the shield so that my cutoff is sharp at 40ft. I use oem Philips 4300k D4S bulb along with oem Denso 35w ballast. No aftermarket kit for me.
Here are some of the outputs.
Cutoff At 30ft:
40ft In A Brighter Environment:
Entire Beam:
Custom-made Fully Curve Shield With Slit:
Prism Color Band at 20ft:
Close-Up of Width - Car parked 40ft:
Prism Color Band at 100ft:
This angle shows the 100ft distant between the wall and my car better:
E30 Clear Lens at Work (each of the doors and garage is about 10ft apart):
Same Cutoff with Car Parked 50ft Back (cutoff remains relatively sharp while maintaining the color band):
Close-up of cutoff step while car parked about 100ft away:
One last thing, by swapping out my IS250 projector with RX330 projector, I lost my bi-xenon and AFS functionality. However, the IS250 headlamp has a separate halogen high beam, which I hardly use.
