Window switch light
Anyone know how to change the lights from the window switch on a 98 sc400? I already pulled out the unit but cant pull off the cover for each switch to access the bulb.
good luck with that! i considered doing that until i took the switches apart in my GX and saw that i'd have to remove and replace the LEDs soldered in. i'm actually very good at soldering just not PCB soldering.
i wonder if the entire PCB is available with different LEDs soldered in? anyway, if they were it'd cost a pretty penny.

I'm working on this right now in my SC. Following this Tutorial ..

Pulling off the switches can be tricky, be careful with that Auto switch.

i tried doing that in my GX but the LEDS are aren't the same type. i have a bunch of white LED bulbs that look like this
. i have successfully used them to replace lots of boring OEM LEDs but the ones on the switch PCB look more like tiny flat rectangular ones that are soldered directly onto the PCB with no + or - wires showing.

ok, after checking the link that svgusta posted i would have to say that that is a piece of cake! i've done many bulb swaps in mine like that. this is what the window switch PCBs look like in my 06 GX470.
if mine were like the ones in that link i would have swapped them out to white LEDs a loooong time ago.
all the LEDS look like the one marked LED2 in the top left of the PCB. like i said.......i'm good at soldering but not that good.
