Default HID foglights

I'm thinking of installing HIDs for my foglights in my 07 RX350. Has anyone done this and if so, do you get a bulb out indicator due to dropping the wattage output from 55 to 35?

Thanks

I replaced foglights with HIDs on my GX470, no problems. Don't believe this will be an issue on the RX.

lol, i installed HIDs in all lights and the only ones i've had problems with have been the fog lamps!

a couple of months ago i noticed the passenger side fog lamp was out. initially i thought it was the ballast. i troubleshot it and it turned out to be the bulb. i ordered replacement bulbs from HIDeXtra and they worked flawlessly up until today!!! i went out earlier and noticed that the driver side fog lamp is out and i'm assuming it is the bulb again!

i'm considering getting LEDs that will go in the fog light housing. this is getting annoying.

LZ!!! What going on, man! Now you got me worried about my HIDs on the fog and low beams. Well, time will tell.

My HID fog kit is on the way from Xenon Depot--I have the low beam kit with zero issues so I see no problem with the fog kit?

That's sucks because you made the cut/mod in the fog light housing to get the wiring in.

I'm waiting for mine, did you disconnect the battery to do the fog conversion?

You don't have to disconnect the battery. The HIDs just plug into the existing light socket through the connectors that are attached.

Hmmm but doing the low beams it was suggested to disconnect the battery first? The only diffferent to doing the fog is the bulb type.

I finally installed 5K HID fog lights and they look great and noticeably add a lot more light onto the road. For the left side, I had to remove the battery so I had room to reach down and install the light and the ballast. For the right side, I had to remove the cover panel but there is less room to work with than the left side.

Now I need to change my low beams to either 5K or 6K. I have 6K HIDs on my other car and the light is much better to see reflective road paint than the OEM 4300s.

I recommend that everyone should do this change.
