Default Factory xenon on ebay

I know this is for one side only, but do you know if this comes with the neccesary parts, or is there more needed? Also, do you think it's a good deal? TIA

Hey, it's in Atlanta I've asked myself the same question - you're talking about going from Halogen right? I wonder how it would need to be hooked up.

I see it doesn't have the headlight housing which is probably different from the halogen. The HID bulb may have a different way to mount into the HID housing vs. the halogen housing.

If it will work, I would say it is an okay deal for $200. That could be $400 for two vs. about $499 for a stage I kit.

Just bookmark it and bid if you've decided in 6 days. All the action happens the last few minutes. If you can get it for cheap, no use not bidding on it, that is if you can get some use out of it.

I bid on a Lexus Nakamichi stereo and amplifier (for an LS) the other day. I have no need for it whatsoever, but the bidding was at $1, so I bumped it up some I'm mean. I new that I would automatically be overbid.

Hi Paul,

Here's my 2 cents...

I'm afraid it will not fit your halogen based headlamp. Here's why:
- Halogen bulb you have now use 9006 bulb application
- OEM HID has a standard round base (totally unique -won't fit your 9006 base)
- Maybe you can modify the base fitment of your headlamp where the bulb secures itself.
- Even if you can remove the fitment for 9006 bulb inside your headlamp, you still do not have the base fitment for the oem HID bulb.

Yes, the ballast will work, no problem about connections either.

IMO, it'll safe you so much trouble if you buy just an aftermarket HID kit already modified for 9006, or if you can find the oem HID headlamps that are still intact...

Just want to share my thoughts...

good luck!

LexRx,

Sorry for the delay, just got back from vacation...

You can find the Manik Install manual online:

http://www.manik.com/support/instructions/I925754T.pdf

Not exactly sure if we can adjust it, I'll have to bring it to a shop, but just by looking at it, yes, we can...

Hey Hendry, I've been wondering what happened to you. I thought to myself today..."he must have gone on vacation or something."

So, you can plug the OEM HID ballast into the stock Halogen wiring harness? Then get a hold of an OEM RX HID headlight housing to mount the bulb. I didn't think, but hoped, the ballast connections would be that easy.

I'm still thinking about those Maniks. I don't know what to do yet

Well, it sounds easy... I think it is... I've done it before... by the look at the ballast in the picture on ebay, I think it's made by Denso. If I'm not wrong (I can confirm tomorrow), we'll just need to connect the wires together with the stock harness....

hrm...

The ballast and everything looks fine... but cant you just use the ballast and bulb and just plug the darn thing into the stock housing on your rx?

like win the bid on ebay.... forget about the lamp housing that comes with it but use and mount the ballast then install those bulbs into your 9006 application then just connect all the connectors as you would with an aftermarket one?

thats my guess... if so, thats pretty darn good and cheap

btw... Hendry... looking at the Manik sidestep install it looks hard... you think i would be able to install it myself considering you did it at a shop... for free too ;p hehe

Hi Spinteews,

Not as simple as you might think about the oem HID bulb fitting into 9006 bulb application.

Check out the following pictures, I got them off Autolamp-online's website... one of the has already been modified for 9006 fitment, the other is original not-modified...

the oem HID bulb will not go into the halogen based headlamp fitment. You think we can just "retrofit" it and "make it fit", it won't work...

Notice both the red arrows...

About the Manik side step bars, personally I think I would be able to install it myself, considering if I have the tools...

Actually the mechanic who helped me install it had never done that kind of work before, so he clearly followed through the install manual, and I asked him to just take the time to do it "right"...
